Oh My. Gosh. Is this real? 5 years? How can it be that what started as a little side hobby has grown so much?! It all started with needing some headshots for a project. I started looking into photographers in the Chicago area (who, don't get me wrong, are FANTASTIC photographers!) and I knew I could never afford a $500+ sitting fee and a few hundred more dollars for prints. I knew a lot of my actor friends locally would also never be able to afford those rates, so I decided to start offering headshot sessions to friends on a budget. Soon, I was asked to photograph kids, families, weddings, events, theatrical archive images, marketing materials for Quad City Institutions - the list goes on! I didn't know how to use my equipment when I first started, but I had a good eye and knew how to work with people, so thankfully, a lot of people gave me a chance. I taught myself a lot, watched a lot of tutorials, found a few great mentors and here I am, 5 years later, with a business that means so much. I simply cannot believe I am headed into year six with this little business of mine!
I wanted to put together a little sampling of some images from the past 5 years as a bit of a refection on how far I've come! It was really hard to decide which images to showcase, but I kind of based it on what I was doing most that year.
